Meet the Founder: Your Guide to a More Gameful Life
Hi, I’m Dr. Gustavo Tondello.
I’ve spent a good portion of my career at the intersection of human engagement and technology. As a Software Engineer at Google, my job is to build world-class tools that are simple, intuitive, and effective for millions of people. But my true passion lies in a deeper question: How can we design technology that not only helps us be more productive but also genuinely makes our lives better?
That question led me to pursue a Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction, where I specialized in the science of gamification. I didn’t just want to build apps; I wanted to understand the core drivers of human motivation. My research focused on discovering the evidence-based principles that can turn mundane tasks into motivating challenges.
